Established 14 June, 1775 as the Continental Army.  Founded more than a year before the Deceleration of Independence, The US Army will celebrate its 250th Birthday this year before the United States of American celebrates its 250 Birthday on 4 July, 2026 . The United States Air Force was a part of the US Army,(known as the Army Air Corps) until 1947 when it became a separate service.
